Google has agreed to guarantee lease payments supporting Anthropic’s rental of
high‑performance compute chips across five US data centers, enabling about $35
billion of financing. Broadcom helped finalize the financing using its industry
clout and high credit rating and will design the chips; Google will develop and
supply TPU chips, giving it greater hardware sales exposure to Anthropic. Apollo
Global Management and Blackstone provided financing for the deal.
