On the morning of the 10th local time, the Iranian foreign ministry said the
U.S. used Iran’s downing of an Apache helicopter as a pretext to strike southern
Iran, calling the action a serious violation of the UN Charter. Iran said its
armed forces, exercising their inherent right of self-defense, launched strikes
on U.S. bases and assets in the area identified as the source of the aggression.
The ministry urged regional states to prevent their territory and facilities
from being used by the U.S. and Israel to plan or carry out attacks against
Iran.
