Financial Times reported Iran said a US airstrike destroyed two water storage
facilities in Hormozgan province, cutting water to about 20,000 residents. The
strikes followed Iran’s downing of a US helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz and a
subsequent US night airstrike. CENTCOM said US aircraft used precision-guided
munitions to strike Iranian air-defence systems, ground command-and-control
sites and surveillance radars near the Strait, describing the action as a
proportionate response to recent attacks on US forces and commercial ships.
Hormozgan officials said the strikes destroyed two tanks with a combined
capacity of 2,500 cubic meters that supplied Kuhestak city and 10 surrounding
villages, causing the reported outage.
