At the close on June 10 China solar names rebounded sharply: JA Solar and Aiko Solar hit daily limits and LONGi Green Energy approached the limit, with heavy buying concentrated in the final half-hour. The surge followed a circulating claim that a mandatory PV efficiency standard covering polysilicon, wafers and modules could be issued next week and, based on earlier drafts, might eliminate roughly 30% of capacity. Companies contacted said they had noticed the claim but could not verify it. At last week's SNEC expo some industry executives said a focused tier‑3 mandatory energy‑efficiency standard may be nearing release.
