Trump posted on social media saying he ordered the U.S. military last month to carry out a secret mission to support tankers and other commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. He said the operation has enabled more than 100 million barrels of oil to pass through the Strait and enter the open market, and that over 200 commercial vessels have transited safely. He added the action shows the United States, not Iran, controls the Strait of Hormuz.
