Iran’s Supreme Joint Military Command said, citing continued US aggression and
attacks on multiple areas in southern Hormozgan province, it is closing the
Strait of Hormuz to all vessel types — including tankers and merchant ships —
effective immediately and that any vessel attempting to transit will be struck.
