DeepSeek has automatically refunded API users after data errors in its
cache-based billing system affected billing from May 13 to June 9, 2026.
Affected customers have received the amounts as bonus credit posted to their
DeepSeek Open Platform accounts. The platform will deduct API charges from bonus
credit first; when paid top-up and bonus balances coexist, bonus credit is used
ahead of paid funds, ensuring refunded credits apply to subsequent API calls.
Users were notified and can view the credits in their Open Platform accounts.
DeepSeek apologized for the incident.
