China announced sanctions on Philippine Defense Minister Teodoro and his
relatives. Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian told a regular briefing on the
12th that Teodoro is a representative of a small group of anti‑China actors
whose irresponsible actions have intensified China‑Philippines disputes and
damaged Philippine national interests, contributing to the deterioration of
bilateral relations.
