Infineon said it is preparing to bring online its largest single investment, a
€5 billion power-chip fab in Dresden, with production scheduled to start July 2.
The project, a major beneficiary of the EU Chips Act, received about €1 billion
in subsidies. COO Alexander Gorski said output will be ramped based on demand
and the site could add as much as €5 billion of revenue annually, but declined
to say when full capacity would be reached. Infineon has invested roughly €2
billion to date; remaining funds will be deployed in phases to equip the wafer
fab.
