According to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), in the week ending June 9, speculators increased their net short positions in U.S. Treasury futures on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) by 3,452 contracts to 163,305 contracts. Speculators reduced their net short positions in CBOT 2-year U.S. Treasury futures by 130,350 contracts to 1,219,838 contracts, reduced their net short positions in 5-year U.S. Treasury futures by 49,056 contracts to 1,320,162 contracts, increased their net short positions in 10-year U.S. Treasury futures by 34,232 contracts to 863,807 contracts, and increased their net short positions in U.S. ultra-long-term Treasury futures by 31,021 contracts to 318,731 contracts.
