Cuban President Miguel Díaz‑Canel said on the 12th the government has identified a package of priority measures to respond to sustained U.S. pressure, covering defense preparedness, economic and social development, external opening and energy transition, the presidential office website said. He said the immediate priority is strengthening defense readiness; another key focus is the 2026 government economic and social plan, and the government has studied more than 20 topics related to economic transformation.
