Xiaomi chairman Lei Jun said on Weibo that Xiaomi Auto places high priority on
testing. The company has a testing staff of more than 800, with over 45% holding
more than 10 years’ experience. The team has conducted tests in 300+ cities,
accumulating more than 35 mln km. Xiaomi Auto runs 126 test labs across Beijing,
Nanjing, Shanghai and Wuhan covering over 65,600 sqm, and has rented two
full-vehicle proving grounds in Yancheng (Jiangsu) and Guangde (Anhui). A
roughly 500-person extreme-environment team, split into summer and winter units,
handles tests in Heihe (severe cold), Turpan (high heat), the Kunlun Mountains
(high altitude) and Hainan (high humidity).
