Poland's Prime Minister Tusk said on Saturday that, given expectations of an easing in a conflict involving Iran and stabilizing prices, Poland will end fuel price caps this summer. In March the government cut fuel VAT from 23% to 8%, reduced excise duty to the EU minimum and imposed daily caps on motor fuel prices; those measures have been extended every two weeks since. This week Warsaw extended the VAT cut and price caps to end-June but did not extend the excise reduction. Tusk said Poland had the cheapest fuel in Europe during the crisis but the measures will be ended this summer.
