Anhui province published draft implementation opinions to promote high-quality
development of the robotics industry, proposing to cultivate platform firms with
ecosystem-leading capabilities. Measures target core generic robotics
technologies, development of breakout products, contract manufacturing and
integrated sales, and support leading firms' shift from single finished-product
manufacturing to a ‘‘technology platform + ecosystem’’ model. Eligible companies
are encouraged to expand overseas via joint investment, franchising, R&D centers
and production bases. The province supports establishing robot platform
companies and new business models including robot leasing, secondary
development, scenario integration, and data training/annotation. Authorities
back corporate mergers and restructurings, will build multi-level matching
platforms to help leading firms pursue global M&A to integrate upstream and
downstream resources, and encourage listed companies, state-owned enterprises
and industrial investment funds to use M&A to accelerate growth of firms with
key core technologies.
