June 15 — Sam's Club China said it was summoned for a supervisory meeting by the
State Administration for Market Regulation and has acknowledged and accepted the
regulator's findings and rectification requirements. The company apologized to
members, said management has formed a special remediation taskforce and launched
immediate, full-channel and full-chain self-inspection and rectification. Sam's
Club China said it will comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements,
comprehensively strengthen food-safety and product-quality controls, uphold the
food-safety baseline and improve member experience. It will report remediation
progress regularly to regulators and accept external supervision.
