Israeli Defense Minister Katz said on June 15 the Israel Defense Forces will
remain indefinitely in security zones in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza to protect
Israel’s borders and settlements from armed threats. He said Israel opposes
withdrawing from Lebanon despite heavy current pressure and expectations of
increased pressure going forward.
