A Swiss diplomat said Switzerland has not received any information or a formal
request to host a U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding signing ceremony in
Geneva. Pakistan Prime Minister Sharif had earlier said both sides would attend
a signing in Geneva this Friday. The diplomat said holding a major event on such
short notice would pose significant logistical challenges — the G7 summit is
taking place in nearby Evian-les-Bains and delegations are using their Geneva
missions as logistical hubs — but added Switzerland would likely be able to
arrange the ceremony if a formal request is submitted.
