At the open, China’s most-active futures contracts were mostly lower. Propylene
fell nearly 4%; fuel oil, PTA, plastics and methanol dropped about 3%; asphalt
and polypropylene declined more than 2%. On the upside, Shanghai silver futures
rose over 2%, Shanghai gold gained nearly 2%, and stainless steel (SS) and
Shanghai tin added more than 1%.
