Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory issued a red rainstorm warning at 12:35 for
Guangming District (Gongming, Fenghuang, Matian subdistricts) after cumulative
rainfall over the past three hours reached extremely heavy levels; an additional
40–60 mm is forecast in the next two hours. At 12:35 the observatory also issued
an orange rainstorm warning for Luohu, Nanshan, Futian, Yantian, Bao'an, the
Pearl River Estuary, Shenzhen Bay, Longgang (Nanwan, Bantian, Buji, Henggang,
Jihua, Yuanshan subdistricts), Guangming (Yutang subdistrict) and Longhua
(Minzhi, Longhua, Dalang subdistricts) following strong rain in the past three
hours; 30–40 mm expected in the next two hours. Shenzhen has entered an
emergency rainstorm defense state.
