Mainland A-shares closed mixed after intraday swings. Shanghai Composite fell
0.11%, Shenzhen Composite rose 0.93%, ChiNext gained 1.72% and the Beijing Stock
Exchange 50 added 1.03%. Turnover across Shanghai and Shenzhen was CNY3.06 tln,
up CNY33.5 bln from the previous session. Battery-related sectors led gains: EVE
Energy and Lead Intelligent each climbed over 13%, and Fengyuan Gufen hit the
daily limit. Supercapacitor names, including Jianghai, saw strong moves with
multiple limit-ups. Power-grid equipment stocks were active; China XD Electric
recorded a second consecutive limit-up, while Wangbian Electric and Great Wall
Electric also hit limit-up. Weakness concentrated in ports and shipping: COSCO
Shipping Energy fell nearly 9%, China Merchants Shipping dropped more than 6%,
with China Merchants Nanyou and Qingdao Port among the laggards. Airport and
airline-related stocks underperformed, led by Xiamen Airport, Spring Airlines
and Juneyao Air.
