China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said summer grain, the year's
first crop, is now over 90% harvested after main-producing provinces accelerated
work in favorable weather. Measures adopted after last autumn's prolonged rains
— including wet-tolerant and late sowing — kept planted area broadly stable;
with area steady and yields expected to rise, the ministry said a strong
summer-grain crop and clear production outlook are confirmed.
