On the 17th (local time) Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke by phone to discuss a US-Iran memorandum, regional issues and bilateral matters. Araghchi outlined details of the memorandum, said the United States is responsible for properly implementing its terms and urged a full halt to Israeli attacks on Lebanon. Lavrov welcomed the finalization of the memorandum text and reiterated Russia's full support for its implementation. Both ministers called on the international community and the UN Security Council to back the agreement, urged strengthened regional diplomatic cooperation to secure peace and agreed to continue follow-up on related issues.
