China's Financial Regulatory Administration said it will support creation of the
'Jin Jian Project Digital-Intelligent Regulation (Shanghai) R&D Base' under
measures to implement the Action Plan for Shanghai's international financial
centre. The base will leverage Shanghai's locational, policy and resource
advantages to build cross-cutting, penetrative regulatory data applications,
standardize and digitize supervisory processes, and develop automated,
intelligent regulatory tools, aiming to act as a pilot zone for regtech
innovation and to strengthen supervisory capacity commensurate with Shanghai's
IFC status.
