CHINA FOREIGN MINISTER Wang Yi spoke by phone on the 17th with Iran foreign minister Alaghchi. Alaghchi briefed Wang on a first-phase memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States, thanked China for facilitating the talks and said the MOU should be fully implemented — including Israel stopping military actions against Lebanon. He added Iran views its relationship with China from a strategic perspective and seeks deeper mutual trust and expanded cooperation to advance the comprehensive strategic partnership.
