Fed Chair Kevin Warsh said on Wednesday he met with the Fed inspector general,
who expects to publish a report this summer on cost overruns in the Federal
Reserve’s Washington headquarters renovation. The project drew intense politics
scrutiny; the Trump administration previously opened a criminal probe into
former Fed Chair Powell over the work, which was later dropped. The episode was
cited as a factor in Powell’s decision to remain on the Fed’s Board of Governors
after his chair term expired in May.
