A-share market mixed at midday: ChiNext rose 1.39%, trading near an 11-year
high, while the STAR 50 index advanced more than 3% and also set fresh highs.
Shanghai and Shenzhen turnover reached 2.14 trillion yuan by midday, up 187.6
billion yuan from the prior session; more than 3,400 stocks were down,
signaling a narrow advance. Industrial metals and semiconductors led gains;
semiconductor names Cambricon climbed over 13% and GigaDevice rose more than 8%,
both hitting new highs. CPO-related stocks remained active. On the downside, the
insurance sector tumbled—PICC, China Life and Ping An each fell over 5%—while
power utilities and airport/airline stocks underperformed.
