MOFCOM said communications in the China‑EU trade and economic sphere are smooth.
On June 9 Vice Minister and deputy chief trade negotiator Ling Ji met European
Commission Director‑General for Trade and Economic Security Jorgensen at EC
headquarters to discuss the China‑EU trade and investment consultation mechanism
and to prepare upcoming ministerial‑level consultations. The EU told China it
does not seek a trade war and supports constructive dialogue; China said it will
work with the EU to manage differences through negotiation, address disputes and
promote pragmatic cooperation to keep bilateral trade healthy and stable.
