June 18 — Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a regular briefing that
Iran and the U.S. have reached a first‑phase memorandum of understanding, but
Israel has not ceased military operations in Lebanon and Iran has warned those
actions could jeopardise implementation. Lin said the first‑phase MoU provided
favorable conditions to ease regional tensions and that, at this critical
stage, relevant parties including Israel should take steps to facilitate
implementation and advance second‑phase talks rather than the opposite. China
said it is willing to use its influence and work with the international
community to help achieve long‑term stability in the Middle East.
