On June 17, China's international trade negotiator and vice minister Li
Chenggang met with an AmCham China delegation led by the chamber's board chair
and president to discuss US-China economic and trade ties and the business
environment for US firms in China. Li said the May leaders' meeting in Beijing
established a new positioning of constructive strategic stability and provided
strategic guidance for bilateral economic relations. He noted China and US trade
teams have held seven rounds of talks since last year and have secured a series
of positive outcomes. Li reiterated that China will continue to widen market
access and welcome foreign investment, including from US companies.
