Trump denied the Iran war exposed limits on his authority, saying “there are no
limits." He said he reached the agreement to prevent the conflict from turning
into a global economic downturn and denied any humiliation. He added “we
thoroughly defeated them militarily" and called the memorandum of understanding
“very likely an unconditional surrender.” He said he imposed a naval blockade
that allowed no ship through, saying some tried but “didn’t last long,” and
implied failure to secure an agreement would have had severe consequences.
