The IAEA said on the 19th that, after its mediation, Russian and Ukrainian
forces agreed a local ceasefire and began same-day repairs to the 750 kV main
transmission line supplying the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant. The plant, one of
Europe’s largest, has been under Russian control since February 2022 and has
suffered repeated shelling and drone attacks, prompting international safety
concerns.
