An Iranian brigadier general told state-affiliated Fars News the US sought to
force Iran's submission via a "peace through strength" strategy and, having
failed, is now desperately pushing for negotiations. He said the enemy has
proven untrustworthy and warned: "We must remain vigilant; any optimism could be
exploited."
