June 22 — An Iranian delegation led by parliament speaker Kalibaf left
Switzerland and returned to Iran after Kalibaf said he learned of President
Trump’s threatening remarks. He told U.S. Vice President Vance at the talks that
Iran would not negotiate under threats or coercion; the delegation then
suspended talks and did not return. Iran only held follow-up discussions with
mediators Pakistan and Qatar and referred to their joint statement later that
day. Kalibaf said Iran continues to distrust the United States and considers
that distrust reasonable given its position.
