On June 22 Prime Minister Babiš said the government has submitted a bill to
parliament to ban phone use by all students in compulsory education in schools
from September 2027. The proposed ban would apply during lessons and breaks,
with exceptions for health reasons or when schools use phones for teaching.
Babiš said the government is also studying possible restrictions on children’s
social media use over concerns about negative effects.
