CNBC reports the search for a new president of the Federal Reserve Bank of
Atlanta has entered its seventh month and is being closely watched as a gauge of
how new Fed chair Waller may reshape the FOMC. Two people familiar with the
process said a search begun under former chair Powell was paused to allow Waller
to lead the appointment. Michael Faulkender, a former senior Treasury official
in the Trump administration, was later added to the candidate list; his current
status is unclear.
