KCNA reported on the 24th that the new multipurpose destroyer Choe Hyon was
commissioned into the Korean People's Navy at a ceremony in Nampo on the 23rd.
The ship completed a 14-month operational capability assessment and has entered
service. Kim Jong Un attended and said the navy’s status, missions and operating
areas are changing and that it is developing into a force with strategic
capabilities.
