On June 23 the U.S. Senate passed a resolution limiting presidential war powers
that directs President Trump to end U.S. military operations against Iran and
requires congressional authorization before any future military action against
Iran. The measure, previously approved by the House, passed 50-48; four
Republicans joined the large majority of Senate Democrats in voting yes and two
Republican senators were absent.
