U.S. Central Command: On June 19, U.S. Central Command forces conducted an airstrike in northwestern Syria, resulting in the death of a senior leader of the Islamic State (ISIS). The precision strike killed Ali Husayn al-‘Ulaywi, and is part of ongoing U.S. operations to dismantle and eliminate terrorists attempting to attack U.S. citizens overseas or on U.S. soil. Central Command will continue to operate in coordination with regional partners.
