U.S. Secretary of State Rubio called Washington’s 60-day sanctions waiver for
Iran a temporary measure and said the U.S. expects Tehran to honor commitments
made under the agreement. He warned that if Iran does not comply, President
Trump has multiple options, including — Rubio said he was not asserting Trump
would necessarily use them — reimposing sanctions. Rubio noted the commitments
were made clearly in Switzerland and said compliance would allow the U.S. to
proceed, while non-compliance would prompt presidential responses.
