Chip stocks rallied in after-hours trading Wednesday after Micron Technology
(MU.O) reported results and guidance above expectations; its shares rose about
15% after hours and were roughly 270% YTD at Wednesday’s close. Qualcomm
(QCOM.O) also rallied, gaining as much as 15% after management at an investor
day outlined an expanded AI/data-center push and said its data-center chip
expansion will deliver "billions of dollars" of revenue in the fiscal year
beginning in October.
