Guangdong provincial science and technology committee office issued the
Guangdong Brain–Computer Interface Technology and Industry Collaborative
Development Action Plan (2026–2030). The plan aims to accelerate approval and
commercialization of BCI medical devices by strengthening technical support,
building provincial review and testing capacity, and bolstering specialized
review, inspection and testing staff; it directs the NMPA medical device
technical review and inspection Greater Bay Area sub‑center to expand BCI review
qualifications. It calls for deeper R&D–regulatory linkage and full‑chain
guidance to steer more BCI devices into innovation and priority registration
channels and speed market entry. The plan instructs that BCI‑related services be
incorporated into medical service pricing and that eligible services be covered
by medical insurance.
