international business environment, welcoming mutually beneficial trade and
investment. He said Prime Minister Takaichi’s recent comments on Taiwan have
seriously damaged the political foundation for Sino‑Japan relations and have had
a significant negative impact on bilateral economic cooperation. He urged
Japanese business leaders to press their government to reflect and correct
course so that China‑Japan trade and investment can return to a healthy
development track.
