June 24, 2026, Paris — Vice Minister of Finance Liao Min attended the 13th Paris
Forum, which focused on sovereign debt treatment past experience and future
prospects. Liao said China places high priority on developing-country debt, has
actively contributed to easing their debt pressures, and called for
multilateralism and a development-focused approach to help resolve those debts
fundamentally. He joined a ministerial lunch with France’s economy and finance
minister and held bilateral meetings with France’s Treasury director-general,
the OECD deputy secretary-general and chief economist, the World Bank vice
president and the IMF director for Africa to exchange views on global economic
imbalances, China‑France bilateral economic ties, industrial subsidies and
African sovereign debt.
