China Three Gorges Corp said at 23:59 on June 25 the Zhejiang Tiantai
pumped-storage power station reached full commercial operation after its final
unit completed a 15-day commissioning trial. The station has total installed
capacity of 1,700 MW, is the world’s highest-rated-head pumped-storage plant and
China’s largest by single-unit capacity, and is the first pumped-storage project
to enter full operation in China during the 15th Five-Year Plan.
