The Baltic Dry Index fell to a two-month low on Friday, sliding 67 points (2.6%)
to 2,524 — its lowest level since April 16 — and closing the week down 7.3%. The
Capesize index (BCI) dropped 187 points (4.9%) to 3,640; Capesize daily earnings
fell $1,694 to $29,511. The Panamax index (BPI) rose 14 points (0.7%) to 2,110,
with Panamax daily earnings up $125 to $18,990. The Supramax index (BSI)
declined 8 points (0.5%) to 1,670, its weakest since June 15. On the week
Capesize and Supramax lost 12.3% and 2.8% respectively, while Panamax was up
0.7%. The Handysize index (BHSI) ticked up 2 points to 945.
