Serbia President Aleksandar Vucic told a large rally in central Belgrade on June
27 he will remain in office for several weeks and then resign. He said he will
work to secure voter support for the ruling Progressive Party and for party
chairman Vucevic in the forthcoming election. Vucic has previously said he plans
to step down and that a presidential vote will be held within three to four
months.
