June 29 — China commissioned its highest-latitude concentrated solar power (CSP)
plant: China General Nuclear’s Jixi base 100 MW CSP in Daan, Jilin province, the
country’s first CSP in Northeast China. The project represents a technical
breakthrough for solar thermal power deployment in high-latitude, severe-cold
regions.
