On June 29 the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters and the
Ministry of Emergency Management convened a multi-agency meeting with the China
Meteorological Administration, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Natural
Resources, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and Ministry of
Transport to assess near-term rainfall trends and coordinate flood-control
operations in priority areas. At 18:00 on June 29 the headquarters activated a
level-4 flood emergency response for Anhui, Jiangxi and Guizhou and dispatched
two working groups to Jiangxi and Guizhou to assist and guide local
flood-control efforts.
