Fourteen individual consumers and three small businesses, including PC
retailers, filed suit on June 25 in US District Court in California alleging
Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron colluded from 2022 to restrict supply and fix DRAM
prices, pushing memory prices roughly 700% higher over the past four years.
Plaintiffs cite Apple’s recent iPad and Mac price increases as evidence of
downstream harm. The case is currently limited in scale but could expand into a
Nationwide class action if the court grants certification.
