President Trump posted that gasoline retailers must immediately lower pump
prices, setting a target near $2.50/gal. He said crude is about $68/bbl and
falling and that the U.S. national average—roughly $3.86/gal—remains too high;
he warned price-gouging is illegal and retailers who do not comply will face
"big trouble." He also singled out California, urging an end to what he called
excessive fuel taxes that are nearing the price of the product.
